BeatlemaniacRenzo (2012, September 6) It is such a short album, but c'mon, it is wonderful! with songs like Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane, Magical Mystery Tour and the Fool on the Hill, this album is awesome, I love it |
Dominic (2012, August 8) Actually Alex sorry to be perdantic but this is a Discography of UK Beatles albums and the official release date of the UK Vinyl (a music cassette had been released a year or two earlier) was in fact November 1976! That said you wouldn not have had any problems buying the USA Import version (released Dec 67) which actually sold well enough to make the top 30 UK Album chart over the XMAS period of 1967 despite the MMT double EP & Hello Goodbye/I am The Walrus single holding positions 1 & 2 in the UK singles chart. |
Alex (2012, July 26) Released in 1967, not 1976 - FYI |
Jojo (2004, April 23) The most psychodelical album of the beatles For me that album is better than the "Sgt. Pepper's..." Only you should listen songs as Magical Mystery Tour, You Mother Should Know, The Fool on The Hill, I am the walrus, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields Forever and let your soul fly with these sounds. |
Dmitry (2003, July 9) It is one of my most favorite Beatles albums and it is in my top 10 albums of all times and artists. Great songs from great 1967 year! |
stealurface (2003, April 5) This album is the one i believe to be the best in alot of ways...it seems that most of the early releases didnt contain alot of music that took risk...everything is so pop pop pop....MMT doesnt follow any set patterns in music...maybe the songs dont mix well together...but why should they...i get bored of listening to most of the early stuff |
Johnnny (2003, March 17) Even though most people consider the actual Magical Mystery Tour film to be sub-standard, the album itself is amazing, even if some of the songs don't go well with each other. After all, half of the tracks are singles that were added to make enough tracks for an album. There isn't really any low point throughout this drug-influenced, glorious, underrated masterpiece, from the whimsical title track to the weird, almost scary madness that is Lennon's "I am the Walrus", the most famous track on the album, and deservedly so. This song starts off innocent enough, with some orchestration, but soon turns into an insane trip, including nonsense lyrics and dialogue from a radio play of Shakespeare's King Lear. You've got to hear it to believe it. "The Fool on the Hill", McCartney's best song on here, is fantastically simple, and it's easy to get stuck in your head. As well as these and a few other songs, the album includes such classics as "All You Need is Love", "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane", as well as the less-known "Baby You're a Rich Man". Overall, a great album which deserves a home in any Beatle fan's collection. |
Nick (2002, October 10) This was my first Beatles album, so besides from the random songs I've downloaded, this cd essentially holds 'a special place,' as corny as that may sound. |
