Gizmobob (2010, November 24) Correction, this was first released October 23, 1961 on Polydor in West Germany, with a German Speaking Intro, also known as the "Rock" version. The English Intro, "Twist" version, wasn't released until January 5, 1962, as indicated above. Rumor has it that the people at the recording studio changed the Beatles band name to "The Beat Brothers" because it sound too similar to "Peedles" which is a German slang word for "Penis".
