The cover has to mean that the Beatles were sick and tired of having their albums butchered by the American record company. I remember reading in Rolling Stone around 1977 or 78 where George Harrison said they always were very careful about where each song was placed on their (British) albums.

What the meaning this cover?? The War? The Material World and his Masters? What the Beatles are sayin`?

A collection of great songs that flows quite well is the best way to describe this. The only real problem (and why a point is docked) is that it contains three songs from Revolver, so the American version of Revolver was left with eleven tracks instead of fourteen. For shame!

Those of you keeping score will note that some tracks are still unaccounted for, and here they are on a "new" Capitol album, "Yesterday" ... and Today. Its 11 tracks contain those four lost Rubber Soul tracks, two more from the second side of Help!, both sides of the 1965 single "We Can Work It Out"/"Day Tripper," and three new songs taken from the next UK Beatles album (being recorded at that time). — William Ruhlmann
