1. It Won't Be Long - Recorded 30th July 1963 in 2 attempts. 8 takes, plus 2 edit pieces of the ending (takes 1-10) 7 takes (takes 11-17), plus 6 edit pieces (takes 18-23). Final mix being take 17 and edit piece 21
2. All I've Got to Do - Recorded 11th September 1963 in 14 takes (8 false starts !), plus 1 overdub onto. Final mix - Take 15
3. All My Loving - Recorded 30th July 1963 in 11 takes, plus 3 edit pieces. Final mix being take 11 with edit piece take 14
4. Don't Bother Me - Recorded 11th September 1963 in 4 takes, plus 3 overdubs recorded 12th September 1963 in 10 more takes, numbered 10-19. Final mix being Take 13 with take 15 overdubbed
5. Little Child - Recorded 11th September 1963, 2 takes, plus recorded 12th September 1963, 16 takes (3-18). Final mix being take 7, with overdubs from takes 13, 15 and 18

11. I Wanna Be Your Man - Recorded 11th September 1963, just 1 take, then, recorded 12th September 1963 in 6 takes (2-7). Final mix was take 7 which had some more later overdubs
12. Devil in Her Heart - Recorded 18th July 1963 in 3 takes, plus 3 overdubs. Finishing with a finished version, Take 6
13. Not a Second Time - Recorded 11th September 1963 in 5 takes, with takes 6-9 being overdubs onto, Final mix take 5.
14. Money - Recorded 18th July 1963 in 6 takes, plus 1 piano edit piece plus, 30th July 1963 - 7 more piano edit pieces (Takes 8-14). The mono mix was prepared 21st August 1963 BEFORE the next overdubs ... Overdubs 30th September 1963 onto take 7. Final stereo mix which had further overdubs, was "Take 7"

Eight moths to the day from the release of Please Please Me came the follow-up LP, With The Beatles . With astonishing British advance orders of 300,000, it swiftly passed the galf-million and, in 1965, the one miullion sales marks. It even earned a brief placing in the singles chart, which in the early 1960s was calculated on sales of any record, irrespective of diameter.

Once again, the LP cover set new trends, Robert Freeman's artful photograph of the Beatles in half-shadow having been the subject of much imitation since.
